Today, I keep over 100 tortoises and turtles, along with a couple of dogs and 2 cats. Our backyard has become a farm including a few ponds and heated tortoise pens. We have various sized tanks for fish and turtle habitats. We have a room dedicated to caring for hatchlings and rescues that need special attention before both are ready to live outside full time.
In 2017, I decided to create this blog as a place to store my research and share my experiences as a keeper. That said, raising a family and maintaining a busy tortoise farm doesn’t leave a lot of spare time to blog, lol. When I was a new keeper, I spent hours upon hours researching the best care for tortoises, turtles, and various other reptiles we kept. Finding quality information was not easy and too much of what I found was inconsistent and just wrong, lol.
My goal is to share what I have learned from buying to breeding and everything in between. I believe in sharing my experiences to make it easier and more fun for the next tortoise keeper.
